Interdisciplinary learning allows students to work in a collaborative setting that prepares them for real life skills and strengthens their voice of advocacy.

Indigenous Studies Visual Essay (Oct 2019)
This visual essay is an artifact that represents my ongoing growth and commitment towards Indigenous Studies. The Indigenous Studies course explores historical and contemporary legislation, educational policy, pedagogy and practices related to Indigenous peoples, with a focus on First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) peoples in Canada. The focus on this course is to help future educators develop relationships/partnerships, lessons, programs, pedagogies, practices, and policies that support Indigenous perspectives. Through this course, I learned about current policies, emerging policies, initiatives, and resources that are based on Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Through all this context I have developed my own perspective and place within the teaching world.

In preparation for teaching, this STEM assignment challenged us to design a possible lesson design that we would want to integrate into our classroom, where a robotics learning environment would be encouraged. We had to implement a rich task into our assignment which involved two concepts of Math and one Science Concept. For the purpose of this assignment we only chose 3 concepts to present, however, if utilized in a classroom, we have considered the possibility of adding in an art of social science concept as well to further this rich task.

What constitute life in schools? (Nov 2018)
This photo essay exemplifies the importance of environmental learning. To thoroughly enjoy the learning process and create a lifelong learning experience, teachers should provide students the opportunity to interact with the environment around them. This fosters a sense of independence in our students and allows students to also keep their new-found knowledge in their long-term memory. If the outdoors is not possible, teachers should still provide their students a classroom where the very walls and content in class are providing them with a rich learning experience.
